Job description
As part of the maize and sunflower season, we are looking for seasonal jobs to our R&D station in Haut Mauco (40) and in Rhodon (41):
As part of a team of seasonal workers and under the responsibility of a team leader, you participate in operations related to our seed activities:
February – March: preparation of the campaign
- Inventory of seed stocks
- Carrying out seed counts (putting grains into bags)
Hours : day- Monday to Friday
Working conditions: indoors
April – May – June: sowing and monitoring of crop development
In conjunction with the team leader, you help to:
- carrying out sowing activities
- crop protection/monitoring
- specific notations (characterization of the plant according to a defined reading grid)
- the assembly of isolation structures allowing the production of hybrids
Hours: day – Monday to Friday with the possibility of working Saturday depending on the weather
Working conditions: outdoors (fields) – journeys and travel are covered by the company
July – August: implementation of pollination activities (flowering)
You manually place pockets on the plant (corn/sunflower) to control fertilization and thus obtain hybrids which will have the characteristics sought by our research & development department – You may also be required to participate, with your team leader, in notation activities (characterization of the plant according to a defined reading grid) This activity is particularly well suited to student summer jobs.
Hours: day – Monday to Saturday with possibility of staggering working hours depending on the weather
Working conditions: outdoors (fields) – the meeting takes place directly in the field (the GPS location is communicated to you before the start of the mission). You will be assigned to a production field (all our fields are located nearby).
September – October – November: carrying out harvesting activities
- Harvesting activities (manual harvesting, ginning, sorting and stockpiling)
- Carrying out seed counts to prepare for sowing which will be done in the southern hemisphere
Hours: day – Monday to Friday
Working conditions: outdoor harvest (fields) and indoor shipment preparation. Working hours vary depending on the activities (between 35 and 48 hours per week)
The positions are to be filled for a variable duration of 15 days to 8 months depending on the profiles and availability of each person. Indeed, the sequence of different campaigns described above offers varied task prospects. Cuts are to be expected depending on weather conditions and crop progress. We accept minors from 16 years old (with parental authorization).
Beginners are accepted, we do not require any particular qualifications: you will be supported and trained by a team leader throughout your mission.
For missions that require going to the fields, you have a taste for working outdoors and are not allergic to pollen.
You have organizational skills and a strong team spirit.
You know how to demonstrate rigor, autonomy and are diligent.
